The laptops and projectors were purchased as part of the 2006 LSTA Grant and should only be used as part of the Library Media Center.
Hooking up the projector:
Hook up the projector and then boot the computer.
Projector should be about 6 to 10 feet from the screen.
Ensure the lens cap is removed.
Set zoom first and then focus.
If the image is not showing on the laptop AND the screen, hold down the function key (blue fn on bottom row) and press F4. Wait for 15 seconds. You may have to repeat this step. It is a 3-way toggle. It will show only on laptop/laptop and screen/only on screen. It takes at least 15 seconds for the change to take effect.
Accessing the internet:
Check to see if you have a blue light on the left front edge of the laptop and a similar blue light next to the symbol that looks sort of like “1” on the top row above the keyboard. If you don’t have a blue light in those 2 places, press the button which has the “1” symbol on it.
Open the internet.
If the intertnet will not open, unplug the power to your airport. Count to ten and plug it back in. That will recycle your airport. If internet still will not connect, contact your Media Technology Specialist.
